The MLB's Oakland A's began playing games March 31, 2025 in West Sacramento at Sutter Health Park, home of the River Cats.
The A's are just using the stadium temporarily for up to a few years before moving to Las Vegas. The A's kicked off the
season with a home game against the Chicago Cubs, who won 18-3. Over 14,000 fans filled the venue, marking a sellout. That exceeds
the average attendance of A's games in Oakland in 2024, which was about 11,500. The event was still treated as historic
for Sacramentans, seeing a major league pro baseball team play in the region for the first time.
