Here's a song I wrote years ago that I recently refined called "Sky Blue Heaven." As I told Twirl Radio
host Mike Lidskin, it's a song that uncovers hypocrisy and points to more open minded thinking about how we view the world.
The song taps into picturesque imagery about "heaven" being used as a propaganda device. I figure
it's as relevant now as when I wrote it back in the eighties.
This live acoustic guitar and vocal
performance is the first public release of the song. It's also the first time I ever performed one
of my own songs on the radio before. After over twenty years of working in commercial
radio my first on air musical performance turns out to be on public radio, which I think is
refreshing. I have not yet recorded a studio version.
Twirl Radio Interview Series: Mike Lidskin and Alex Cosper
Below are a series of interviews between Mike and me. In the first one Mike interviewed me in January
2012. A year later I returned to Twirl Radio as Mike and I interviewed each other on January 19, 2013.
