60s/70s Pop Music Research "Video of the Day" review by Alex Cosper on December 13, 2012

Here is the second video in our discussion about the book called "Where Have All the Pop Stars Gone?" Written by Davis co-authors Marti Smiley Childs and Jeff March from, the book covers musical artists of the sixties and seventies who left the music business and went into other fields. Some of the artists they have interviewed in their three book series have made touring comebacks, such as the Buckinghams and Zombies. Both The Buckinghams and The Grass Roots, who are written about in the latest book, appeared at the Cal Expo State Fair last summer on the Turtles' "Happy Together Tour" in which the writers met with The Buckinghams. The Angels, who had the number one hit "My Boyfriend's Back," went into singing jingles for commercials. Marti and Jeff talk about some of the artists they mention in their book and the reasons they pursued other interests. The presentation was made at the Avid Reader in Davis, California on Saturday evening, December 8, 2012.
