Ken Koenig's Acoustic Vibrations
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by
Alex Cosper on April 26, 2012
Ken Koenig shares his organic music and caring view
of the world in this SacTV.com interview. His love of The Beatles can be felt in his music while at the
same time he delivers his own unique sound. He credits the world's most successful band as an inspiration
that helped him navigate his way through life. In this video shot April 25, 2012 Koenig performs an acoustic
version of his meaningful and melodic tune "Stay With Me Tonight," which is on his 2008 album
Bring It Home. Four years later he has planned a new release for June called The Organic Life,
which contains a jazz-flavored gem called "Winter of Innocence," a single from last year.
Ken's music is available on iTunes (see below) and CDBaby.
Ken has performed frequently in the Sacramento area at Downtown clubs and open mic venues mixing classic
covers with his own originals. One of his cover recordings is the sixties hit "The Rain, The Park and Other Things"
originally by the Cowsills. At shows he enjoys covering The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Crowded House. While his
main instrument is guitar, he also plays bass, drums, piano, mandolin and ukelele on his recordings. His songs
tell deep thoughtful stories that generate positive energy. While he earns a living playing music, he is not
interested in becoming a rich superstar, but enjoys sharing music with the world. His focus is helping his
family and other people. Read more about the Sacramento music scene and other regional indie scenes at
Update: June 23, 2013
Ken released his album The Organic Life in the summer of 2012. He promoted the album with many live
shows through 2013, especially at Vintner's Cellar in Folsom. His daughter, Amanda Koenig, made her first
professional musical performance in February 2013 at Vintner's. Ken continues to mix famous cover songs
of the 60s/70s/80s/90s with his originals. His song "Beautiful Day" on Organic Life is one of his
catchiest songs to date. He is crafting a model for other indie artists to follow, as he keeps audiences
entertained from start to finish with covers and a growing list of excellent original songs.
