Socialistik

Socialistik was a hip hop trio from Sacramento signed to Priority Records in the 1990s after the group relocated to Los Angeles. The members called themselves Jazz, Lock and K.G., led by Chuck Taylor. The group went by other names as well such as Fonke Socialistiks. Taylor moved back to Sacramento and reformed the group and began booking hip hop shows at Bojangles, where Jerry Perry booked punk acts. Socialistik also opened for Deftones and Papa Roach. In 2001 the band was inducted into the SAMMIES Hall of Fame. The band stood out from other local hip hop groups by writing political lyrics.
