Papa Roach

Official website: Paparoach.com

Papa Roach originated from Vacaville but performed frequently in Sacramento throughout the 90s before they landed a major record deal. Led by Jacoby Shaddix on vocals, other members include Dave Buckner on drums, Jerry Horton on guitar, Will James on bass and Ben Luther on trombone. The band was formed in 1993. A year later they released their first EP, Potatoes for Christmas. Their debut indie album was Old Friends From Young Years in 1997. After another EP they were signed to DreamWorks Records and had a national alternative/rock hit with "Last Resort" in 2000.

"Last Resort" came from the 2000 album Infest, which sold over 4 million units. It contained the follow-up hits "Broken Home" and "Between Angeles and Insects." Their 2002 follow-up album on DreamWorks Lovehatetragedy went gold and featured the hits "She Loves Me Not" and "Time and Time Again." On their third album Getting Away with Murder in 2004 they switched to Geffen and peaked high on alternative and rock charts with the title track, "Scars" and "Take Me." The album went platinum with the single "Scars" went triple-platinum.

The next album The Paramour Sessions was released in 2007 and went platinum. It contained the hits "Forever" and "Time Is Running Out." After that, the band recorded for DGC and Interscope, but CD/album sales began to fall off for the entire music industry. Even so, their 2009 album Metamorphosis still went gold. In the 2010s the band remained active, recording four albums on indie labels. In 2022 Papa Roach released its 11th album, Ego Trip.
