His first major label release was the album Measure of a Man in 1996. His first single, "Nobody Knows," went to number one on the country charts. The album had a few more hits: "She's Sure Taking It Well" and "If You Love Somebody" both made the top 10 on the country charts. Within the next year he became a spokesman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and received their "Wish Granter of the Year Award" in 1997. Unfortunately, Sharp's 1998 follow-up album, did not generate anymore hits and he was dropped from the label. Kevin Sharp went on to release one more independent album, Make a Wish in 2005.
