Kevin Seconds became an established punk musician in the 80s as lead singer of Reno band 7 Seconds. In the 90s the band was signed to Sony Music/Epic Records, after he had left Reno for Sacramento. The band's song "See You Tomorrow" got airplay on alternative station KWOD 106.5 in the mid-nineties. Kevin worked for the station the following decade, hosting local music features.

He and his wife of many years, Allyson, ran a nightclub in Sacramento during the nineties called True Love Cafe. They have performed live together frequently in town since the nineties. Kevin also fronted power pop/punk band Go National in the nineties, appearing at The Crest Theatre. He has been very active in the local music scene and has done many high-profile shows, such as performing at a Bernie Sanders rally in 2016.
