Deathray

Official website: mmm.com

Deathray, led by Dana Gumbiner, was an alternative Sacramento band signed to Capricorn Records in the early 2000s. Dana was previously a vocalist for Little Guilt Shrine (LGS). Deathray included Cake members Greg Brown and Victor Damiani. Later Todd Roper also left Cake to return as Deathray's drummer. The band formed in 1998 and within two years had a deal with Capricorn, which had signed Cake, on the strength of regional record sales. In the early 2000s the band relocated to Los Angeles and stayed together through 2007. During its nine-year run the band only released one album on Capricorn followed by an independent album.
