Beer Dawgs

Official website: The Beer Dawgs Facebook page

The Beer Dawgs, which formed in 1986 as a bluesy country/rock band, began releasing music in 1988 and became very active in the Sacramento music scene starting in the 1990s. They released ten albums from 1990 through 2006. Led by songwriter and guitarist Bawb Pearce, other members have included Joe Lev on bass, Bill Peck on drums and Steve Wall on lead guitar. Several other musicians have appeared on stage with the band over the years.

In 1996 the Beer Dawgs were inducted into the SAMMIES Hall of Fame. The band has played many high-profile local events, including Skip Music's 40th anniversary in Old Sacramento in 2013, when they were introduced by KFBK's Kitty O'Neal. They broke up in 2006 when Pearce moved to Texas, but have reunited on multiple occasions, such as the 2015 show at Swabbies.
