7 Seconds

Originating from Reno, Nevada, 7 Seconds was a punk/rock band formed in 1980 by Kevin Seconds. Other members included Steve Youth on bass, Bobby Adams on guitar and Troy Mowat on drums. They were one of the earliest bands to call their music "hardcore." The band released several recordings and remained active until their breakup in 2018. In the 90s they were signed to Sony Music/Epic Records and received airplay on alternative station KWOD 106.5 for "See You Tomorrow."

In 1983 the album United We Stand on Alternative Tentacles Records was planned for release but the label decide not to release the album. While some of the tracks were released in the next few years, the album was shelved until 1991, when it was re-issued on Headhunter/Cargo Records under the title Old School. The band began making demos in 1980 with Drastic Measures on cassette. Alternative Tentacles did relase an EP in 1982 called Skins, Brains and Guts. Other EPs followed on other labels in the next few years. In 1984 The Crew was their first full album released on BYO Records.
