Ken Koenig has been releasing solo albums with the help of other musicians since 2008, starting
with Bring It Home. Since then he's released three other albums. His musicianship talent encompasses guitar, ukulele, mandolin and piano, as well
as drums and percussion. Ken has played regular gigs in Sacramento and Folsom, doing a mix of classic rock covers
and modern folk/rock-inspired originals.
Ken Koenig - Lonely Without You
He saves money on recording by creating basic tracks at home then takes them to
the studio of Jerry Jennings to complete production, while consciously avoiding overuse of studio gimmickery. The first time he heard his
music on the radio was a song called "Lonely Without You" on public radio station KVMR from Nevada City.
Ken Koenig - Never Be The Same
In 2008 Ken's song "Never Be the Same" was regularly aired on former Sacramento radio station KZZO, known as "The Zone." The overall sound is straight-ahead
rock with tuneful riffs. From his debut album, it's the type of song that picks up where interesting rock left off and provides hope for the indie world.
Ken Koenig - Winter of Innocence
"Winter of Innocence" is an excellent introduction to Ken's body of diverse tuneful music with picturesque lyrics. It was released in
2010 and serves as a time marker between his first two albums. The arrangement has a timeless jazzy feel that could be considered
nice soundtrack music for enjoying a vacation during any season.
Ken Koenig - Stay With Me Tonight
Ken performs a live acoustic version of his song "Stay With Me Tonight" from the album Bring It Home. The song fits into the
Americana sound but with a unique melody. Ken writes songs based on feelings and chords, which form his own organic flavor. His influences
include The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. This performance was recorded April 25, 2012. Ken says his goal is to share his positive music
with the world.
Ken Koenig - Beautiful Day (Live)
"Beautiful Day" is a standout melodic song from Ken's 2012 album The Organic Life. It's another uplifting song with an independent spirit that comes off
as powerful in this live performance recorded February 23, 2013 at Vintner's Cellar near Folsom. Ken regularly performed at the small winery in the
2012-2013 period. This song is another example of art that can go much further than the local scene.
Ken Koenig - Fly Away
This softer song from Ken came from his 2019 album Falworth. The arrangement and production add colorful textures that help create
a relaxing mood as the vocals mix nicely with 12-string guitar, mandolin and congas. As with previous projects, Ken produced the album with Jerry Jennings.
