Arden Park Roots - Under The Sun
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by Alex Cosper on June 14, 2013

Arden Park Roots now ranks number 2 behind Papa Roach on ReverbNation's Sacramento chart for all genres. This song "Under The Sun" has a rhythmic reggae party flavor mixed with a laid back love song feel. The video was made on west side of the Sacramento River overlooking Downtown and the Tower Bridge. This song has a refreshing summer feel and sounds more tuneful than current national hits. The band's authentic sound helps make them one of the top acts in town. The band describes themselves on their website as "rock/reggae." Their most recent album is called Pipe Dreams, which was released in November 2011.

They've won SAMMIES in the reggae/rock/funk category and have been inducted into the Sacramento Hall of Fame. Tyler Campbell is the band's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Other members include guitarist Nick Ledoux, bassist Spencer Murphy and drummer Jason Duvall. The bands has a busy touring schedule throughout 2013. They played at Chavez Park for the Friday concert series on May 17 then the Cali Roots Festival on May 24 and Reggae in the Hills on June 7. Some of their other appearances have been at the Stonehouse Brewery in Nevada City, Crystal Bay Casino in Tahoe and Jaster O'Farrells in Santa Rosa. In March they visited San Diego, Scottsdale, Arizona and several Texas cities including Dallas, Austin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio.

The band features several songs on their ReverbNation profile. Some of their other tuneful songs that reveal the band's diversity include "Downfall," and "Tribute to Life." "Downfall" is an interesting lyrically insightful song that builds in intensity and sounds like it could be more than a regional hit. "Tribute to Life" has a laid back reggae feel at first then also escalates in energy. It's some of the most creative reggae music to come from Sacramento in years.
