Harrison Price's 80s Hit "Spiritual Zoo" Gets New Life
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by

"Spiritual Zoo" is a song that lives on after a few decades of being one of Sacramento's buried treasures. The song
was played on mix shows on KWOD when it came out in the 1988. Harrison Price put a new line-up together for Gotham Chorus,
that band who helped pioneer electronic music in Sacramento during the 80s. This video captures their live version of the
song for Retro-Union at Harlows on September 1, 2012. The line-up for the band that night was Harrison Price on keyboards
and vocals, Jeff Rainforth on keyboards and Zack Kampf on drums.
This version of "Spiritual Zoo" was actually ten minutes but the video only a few minutes of the song set to photos
and footage of the event. It was a night that showcased new technology in sound and lighting. Harrison Price has found
a way to be on the cutting edge of technology since the 80s, when he was one of the first local musicians to experiment
with MIDI equipment. The night was full of 80s and 90s electronic dance music played by DJs along with two other bands.
Gene Loves Jezebel opened and were followed by Citizen 16 then Gotham Chorus. The mood of the night was friendly with a
sense of nostalgic adventure.
