Sacramento Independent Business Climate 2012
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by

Sacramento's independent business climate seems to be in mediocre shape in 2012. Either that, or local
indie businesses still don't know a lot about Google. The reason I say that is when you Google search
things like "successful Sacramento independent businesses" not much comes up. Well, you will find a few
links. You can learn about how a local company called Intelligent Rentals has partnered with national
moving company U-Haul to add various services to their business. You may also learn that a lobbyist group
called the National Federation of Independent Business, funded by big Republican contributors, has been fighting national health care reform
in the name of small business, even though the reform law lets small biz off the hook for required health insurance if the company has
less than 50 employees.
Meanwhile, a newer California-based lobbyist group called the Small Business Majority applauds national health care reform and
works on regulation that levels the playing field so that big biz doesn't hog so much business. Outside of that, not
a lot of indie biz news is making the back pages. But here's something to consider: indie doesn't have to be local.
It can be national or international thanks to the internet. SacTV.com explores this emerging new real of business
that could help Sacramento improve its economic recovery. Read more about the Sac indie biz climate in this
SacPress article.
