Sacramento Independent Business Headquarters
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by

The Sacramento independent business scene has been somewhat quiet during the recession. While there are
some companies doing well, it appears many indie businesses are struggling with the sluggish economy.
Sacramento was hit hard by the recession due to one third of its workforce working in the government sector.
State and local governments have been downsizing throughout the recession, as well as big corporations.
The only new jobs being added are from small to medium business. What doesn't get talked about a lot
are online jobs, even though there are plenty of them.
A lot of jobs that promote themselves as offering "work from the comfort of your home" are simply scams
trying to get you to pay them for instructions for telecommuting work, but you're really just buying
a commercial that leads to more commercials about nothing. The legitimate online work tends to be found
on aggregate sites that let you pick your own assignments. I mention some of these sites in the video,
but beware that the internet is flooded with sites posing to offer jobs that really want you to be their
slave for peanuts.
Legitimate online jobs range from virtual assistants to writers to web designers to software developers.
A lot of the work doesn't pay well, but if you use Craigslist effectively, you can promote your skills
online. Two of the best paying assignments I've done this year were writing lyrics for a new company that creates custom
songs for businesses. In the future I will be listing sites that let you make real money online, as
one of the directions blossoming in the independent business revolution.
