Dog's Tour of William Land Park
SacTV.com "Video of the Day" review by
Alex Cosper on Jan. 20, 2012
This tour of William Land Park is unique in the sense that it's from the
perspective of a dog riding in a sidecar. The dog's name is Sidecar Savannah,
who is the star of his own website.
The video takes us around the streets of the park full of green trees and plenty of shade. This concept
of letting an animal act as a video tour guide is a different twist in the
ongoing search for Sacramento's most creative videos.
William Land Park is a beautiful part of Sacramento that provides rich
natural scenery for videomaking. In fact, it's possible to shoot hours of
non-repeating footage there and come up with interesting video content. Add
a dog to explain the scenery and you've got a pretty original video.
Sacramento needs more videos that incorporate new fun ideas, without copying
the exact idea in this video.
The Land Park area is a major part of Sacramento's identity. It was named after
William Land, who owned the Western Hotel on 2nd and K St, which was built in
1875. The Park includes The Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, Funderland and
The William Land Golf Course. In the spring and summer it's a place where you'll
find lots of community activities like outdoor barbecues, softball, soccer, basketball, jogging and golf.
