Here's the first official SacTV.com video for its new YouTube channel, SacTVnews. In this video I chat with
SacRockRadio.com creator Joe-G, who interviewed me on his internet station in March 2011. We talk about
what we're doing as web developers bringing Sacramento talent together to showcase their work. We joke
about the doomsday believers who think 2012 will be the last year because our plans are to make 2012
an awesome beginning for elevating Sacramento to the world. We review our web development backgrounds at
building internet radio stations and helping promote the local music scene.
Joe-G, in addition to being a new media web developer, is a freelance videographer and musician. In the early 2000s
he was a guitarist for Cleanse, who were signed to Atlantic Records. Cleanse had the same manager as
Papa Roach and toured with them as well as Incubus. He learned a lot about the music industry and decided
he wanted to help promote local indie artists with his website in Sacramento. These days, in addition to
creating content for SacRockRadio.com, he's working on
expanding his skills as a freelance videographer and filmmaker to take it to the next level.
This video serves as an overview of SacTV.com's artistic direction, which is to find unique local talent.
Both Joe-G and I agree that originality goes a lot further than trying to mimic national trends, which
have already grown tiresome after a decade of the same short list of formulas dominating movies,
music and other traditional media. We want to shake things up a little and inspire new directions
in media so that Sacramento is known as an innovative as well as traditional center for creative minds.
Here is another video conversation SacTV did with Joe-G on Dec. 30, 2011 about his experience
in building an internet radio station as well as working in the music industry.
